Cashmere Blankets for Your Baby

If you have ever tried a cashmere sweater on, then you will realize how much comfort and joy can be experienced from these works of nature. Now, imagine having this comfort when you are in your bed – doesn’t that sound like a time in heaven? Now let’s take this a step further. We know that babies are not able to retain much body heat within their first few months, so it is very important that they are kept warm at night. Putting your little bundle of joy in a cashmere blanket will definitely put an end to this occurrence.

When you are deciding on what cashmere blanket to purchase, the most important determining factor should be the thickness of the blanket. The thicker the blanket is, the more insulation that it gives, the better that it is - period. Pick up the blanket, put it in your hands and squeeze your palms together. You should be able to feel how thick it is and how smooth that the cloth is. You want this for your baby – something that provides adequate warmth without irritating the baby’s sensitive skin.

The next deciding factor should be the durability of the cashmere cloth. Since you want it to last a long time, you will want to inspect the tightness of the weave. The tighter that the weave of the cashmere is then the longer that it will be able to hold its shape and keep itself together. Also note that the more you wash cashmere, then the more likely it is to becoming weak due to the yarns loosening.

We all know that price will be an important factor when selecting which cashmere is best for you. Cashmere blanket tags are similar to that of cashmere sweaters. There are cheaper versions, but they are likely to have a mixture of lower grade, coarser outside hair from the Himalayan goat. These are not pure cashmere, but still they are really soft and keep you warm. Consider this if you are looking for inexpensive cashmere with a lesser quality.

There are a lot of resources online to order your cashmere from. You can check out The Pashmina Store, the Red Envelope, Blankees and Jenklair Kids. Just look for them in search engines and you will be able to find great deals and outstanding prices. Remember that you want to make sure that your baby is taken care of when he or she is sleeping. A picture of a baby in cashmere makes for a nice memento. Remember that the best way to wash your cashmere is to hand wash it. Use soap or shampoo with warm water and be careful not to wring it when drying it. You want to preserve its shape for as long as possible.
